Since 1988, Focus Microwaves has assisted designers of power and low-noise amplifiers in accelerating their design cycle and improving their products by providing accurate Load Pull and Noise measurement systems. Responding to our customers’ demands helped us to be at the forefront of innovation, having introduced almost all new products and applications in this field. Our expertise is proven by our record, having installed over 600 complete systems using 1300 automatic tuners in 4 continents.

We offer standard and customized solutions for R&D and production testing from 30 MHz to 110 GHz, as both stand-alone hardware and fully-integrated systems. Fields of use include:

Focus Tuner Families
Focus tuners can be computer controlled either via USB or TCP/IP (iTuner) interface. All older models, controlled via ISA or PCI cards from the PC can be upgraded to USB or TCP/IP on request.

iTuner is a stand-alone tuner concept; it contains its own micro-processor, firmware, memory and calibration files. It can tune to an impedance and de-embed to DUT reference plane; it can execute pre-programmed tuning sessions; it understands TCP/IP transmitted high level ASCII commands (MOVE, INIT, TUNETO and more). iTuners work with LabView©, Vee©, Visual Basic user designed software. All Focus tuner families below are available either as USB or as iTuners.

CCMT-SP Synchronized Pre-matching Tuner; cover 0.8-50GHz; use two probes that move simultaneously horizontally and vertically creating similar VSWR as PMT's, but over the whole area of the Smith Chart. The distance between the probes can be adusted manually to increase bandwidth.  
MPT Multi-Purpose Tuner; cover 0.3 to 50GHz; use three independent wideband probes; can be used as three harmonic tuner (amplitude and phase), as ultra stable fundamental tuner and as high VSWR pre-matching tuner.

Combo & Bi-Harmonic Combination Tuner, models CCMT-2H or CCMT-BH; cover 1.8 to 50GHz; use wideband probes (CCMT) and harmonic resonatots (PHT) to tune fo and 2fo or fo, 2fo and 3fo.  
LFT Low Frequency Tuner; cover 10 to 150 MHz in various bands; use independent tuning sections and can be in-situ calibrated using iTuner technology.
